Canon Powershot G10 Quick Review

The Canon Powershot G10 is the top of the range of Canon’s compact, its benefits are close or even superior to other models of the brand SLR. This camera is Changing the logic of its predecessor, the G9 of the major differences that separate.

The G10 features a 5x zoom lens that starts from a block of 28 mm, thereby achieving the capture of images of landscapes, architecture and interiors, combined with the optical stabilizer allows us to take pictures sharp throughout the focal range.

The 14.7-megapixel CCD sensor works in combination with the new Canon DIGIC 4, to ensure perfect images that combine high detail with a low noise levels. A very impressive detail allows printing of images up to A2 size, and reencuadrar images creatively during postprocessing operations.

To provide the highest standard of control during the postprocessing, the new PowerShot G10 includes a RAW shooting mode, compatible with Canon Digital Photo Professional software, which enables the integration of the images captured in the workflow professional photographers.

The new DIGIC 4 image processor uses improved algorithms to Canon and a very accurate calculation, allowing the PowerShot G10 to deliver two major advantages: ultra-fast operation and high quality images with little noise, with a clarity and a reproduction of excellent image.

DIGIC 4 also powers several intelligent functions and manages the built-in camera. The new i-Contrast feature increases the Canon’s tonal range (or dynamic) to draw images that detail was not possible before seen in the dark, like shadows, without losing detail areas clearer.

The resolution of Canon battle against jitter effects caused by camera shake and subject, using a variety of different technologies such as Optical Image Stabilizer, the Movement Detection Technology and Auto ISO Shift and Servo AF like that, when activated, adjusts the focus of a subject that is moving to or from the camera.

The big screen PureColor LCD II 3.0-inch, which offers the highest resolution of the range with 461,000 points, allows easy framing and a detailed review of each photo captured, and this is complemented by a reproduction improved color and an exceptionally wide viewing angle. The PowerShot G10 offers a quick and easy access to the main settings, including specific dials for exposure compensation and a dual ISO / shooting modes.

The complete system of accessories now includes flash Cancel Macro and Macro Twin Canon, which offer great opportunities to capture earliest drawings and other types of creative photography. Moreover, its compatibility with the remote RS60-E3 enables easy shooting when the camera is mounted on a tripod.

But the best part of this camera, in my opinion, is the aesthetics of classical chamber, its robustness, the layout of controls and especially the control of the the ISO sensitivity compensation. The negative point is perhaps the most significant price above 400 euros, which will hesitate to buy this camera model or some low-end SLR.
