Gateway FX P-7805u Review
Gateway FX P-7805u Laptops focused on economic gamers market have a pleasant surprise, a decent mix of components, combined with high-end video cards.
The previous model P-7811 FX for $ 1,400 dollars from the rest stuck with a resolution of 1,900 x 1,200 pixels, and Nvidia GeForce 9800M GTS. Unfortunately the P-7811 FX has been discontinued to make way for the FX P-7805u, currently only available at BestBuy.
The recent model seems to be a setback, because despite being cheaper, probably will have to lower the resolution to most video games to improve the details. The 17-inch passed a resolution of 1,900 x 1,200 to today’s 1,440 x 900 pixels.
The first model that launched Gateway to the niche of gamers was in early 2008; this system has a resolution of 1,440 x 900, which made possible in part by its low price. In August of that year they released the P-7811 FX with its enhanced resolution and keeping the price down.
Gateway FX P-7805u includes an eSATA port to connect an external hard drive, an ExpressCard/54 slot, and FireWire (a rarity nowadays). It keeps the Intel Core 2 Duo P8400 P-7811, which is quite efficient combined with 4GB of RAM and hard drive faster than 7,200 rpm.
The main attraction of this computer is its graphics card-high-end Nvidia GeForce 9800 GTS, with a very good performance even for gaming applicants. Its battery offers approximately 3 hours of Independence and the team has factory warranty of one year.
Gateway FX P-7805u scored 8.2 on CNet
