Google Nexus One Patch Did Not Fix 3G Connectivity Issues

Last week, Google released a software update to solve the problems of access to 3G networks in the Nexus One Yet it seems that the patch has not helped to repair the failure in its entirety. In the technical support forums users still complain about the loss of connection.

The truth is that the Nexus One entry in the market can not be more discouraging. For now, T-Mobile has taken responsibility for the failures in telephone networks, but does not seem very committed in solving it.

By contrast, the efforts seem to have fallen almost entirely on Google and HTC, although initially the hardware produced by the Taiwanese manufacturer has nothing to do. At least that is what was said, but today no one seems able to ensure anything. The first complaints about the difficulties of access to 3G networks appeared on the Google Mobile Help Forum. The Nexus One are currently distributed in the U.S., UK, Singapore and Hong Kong, although the only country affected, it is known, is the American. So, in fact, everything suggests that the problem of the poor infrastructure of the operator T-Mobile, which has reacted with due diligence. Users who try to use the 3G network for surfing experience intermittent disconnects. During the intervals the terminal uses the EDGE protocol, which is much slower. Also the coverage drops to a minimum.

Setbacks connectivity sales join the Nexus One very low worldwide. He was named to compete against the iPhone, a battle won in the technological field, but has lost in the commercial. While the smart phone Apple shipped in the first month no less than 1,600,000 units in the Google case has barely reached 80,000. Even behind Motorola, which sold 250,000 Motorola Droid.

Let’s see what impact the insistence of the glitches. From the outset, not surprising that they ordered the Nexus Motorola Two, although they should change their operator rather than manufacturer.

HTC Droid Eris Review

HTC Droid Eris is another HTC Android device that will go with American operator Verizon. This phone runs on the Android 1.6 and features a Qualcomm 528MHz processor, 5 megapixel camera with autofocus, proximity sensors, 3G and WiFi connectivity. It has 3.2 inches (320 x 480) touchscreen  and  controlled through the sense interface like HTC Hero.

The device has CDMA/EV-DO network compatible with 3.2 “(resolution of 320 x 480 pixels) capacitive touch screen and a 5 megapixel camera. It characteristics seems that Eris will take midrange level market.

HTC Droid Eris scored 8.0 on CNet. The phone offers a slim design, plentiful features, and satisfying performance. It also has pinch and zoom multitouch. But, in other side, the device has has mixed multimedia quality. It comes only with the Android 1.5 OS, there’s no file manager, and internal performance was occasionally sluggish.

What little bit confusing is “Droid” name.  “Droid” reminds us to Motorola Droid that also goes for the same operator. So the prefix “Droid” could be the range of Android mobile, not something unique to HTC or Motorola

The new handsets from Motorola / HTC will go on sale in just a couple ago. BoyGeniusReport reports indicating that Verizon Wireless will be responsible for distributing these handsets that based on Android 2.0
