Sony Ericsson T715 Preview

Sony Ericsson T715  is the latest venture of Sony Ericsson in mobile market. T715 combines size and performance via HSDPA connectivity,  a handful of integrated Internet applications and midrange slider type. Adjusted 3.2 megapixel camera with Photo Light, a compensation system that, according to the company, can take good pictures under any lighting condition. Somewhat questionable if we consider that the lens is small and of poor quality.

A Compact Mobile

The Sony Ericsson T715 is a slider-type terminal with a very comfortable form factor. Its dimensions are 91.5 x 48 x 14.9 mm and weighs only 95 grams. Too bad that Sony is moving to do so herself cuadradotes more rounded shapes because they had done so much more comfortable in the pocket. The controls are typical of Sony with buttons big enough and comfortable and only a connection for charging and headset, the camera button and volume control on the sides. The metal casing of the phone is available in color or black and silver black and pink.

Screen and Camera

SE T715The terminal display is a simple 2.2 inch TFT with 240 × 320 pixels resolution and anti treatment. It is not an exceptional size to access the internet and the fact that it is not touch, nor will benefit. However, it is the price to pay to reduce the size of the mobile connection to the enormous range of touch.

The camera phone is also easy, especially considering that Sony used to install optical greater. The camera is only 3.2 megapixel with LED flash, autofocus, 3.2 x digital zoom and video recording.

The CMOS sensor of the camera also features a technology called PhotoLight. In short, PhotoLight changes the order of the layers of the sensor so that the light-sensitive layer is closer to the surface. With this change, Sony is trying (at least in theory) that the camera performs better in low light conditions, the usual handicap of all mobile photography. In addition a claim that is inconsistent with the improvement of its limited resolution capture. Let us not forget that today’s mobile photo are at least 5 Mpixel.

Connectivity and Extras

Although not a high end, the T715 is broadband connectivity HSDPA 3.5 G, which allows you to quickly connect to the internet or use your mobile to one of the flat rates offered by many operators. The Sony Ericsson T715, yes, it does not have WiFi or GPS, but if it offers Bluetooth 2.0 with A2DP. Internal storage is 30MB plus a memory card port MicroUSB up to 16GB.

T715 connectivity to the Internet to offer a long list of web services such as integrated Google searches, Accuweather, geolocation and street Googlemaps or Youtube.

Batteries and Compatibility

T715 batteries give an acceptable autonomy (based manufacturer, in 10 hours GSM talk down to 4 3G) or 400 hours of standby time (350 in 3G). The phone works with Symbian, Nokia’s operating system and is compatible with Microsoft ActiveSync, Java and audio or video files to a certain extent. The terminal will be available throughout the third quarter and has not yet revealed the price.

The Best

Very transportable size and connectivity are the best points of this mid-range slider. If you worked at Sony as they say, the system Photolight could be a nice addition too, although it seems more maeketing another argument.

Can be Improved

It is a pity that the terminal does not include WiFi or GPS. However, Sony should make a good design review of its terminals. Are all suspiciously similar to their cameras. Moreover, half assigned to a mobile phone camera as his best asset is questionable. Especially when is 3.2 Mpix.
