Apple Updates iLife 09 With RAW Camera Support
Apple has released a series of five separate updates that affect both the applications that are part of iLife, and more specifically to: iDVD, iMovie, iPhoto and compatibility with the RAW format in many applications.
One of these updates, iLife 9.0.3, provides resources to improve the characteristics shared by the applications of iLife package and other programs. Solve some memory problems, and as a result has improved the functioning of the Media Browser, fixes the issues that prevented the display to add custom folders to the Media Browser and keeps the correct dates of when you import images from iPhoto to Aperture. Its installation is recommended for all users of iLife’09, iWork’09 and Aperture 2.
For its part, the iDVD 7.0.4 update solves problems of compatibility of the application and correct the problem that prevented title or add a comment for a picture in the list of details of the image. Its installation is recommended for all users of iDVD 7.
The Movie 8.0.3 update also addresses general compatibility issues, improves overall stability of the application and correct minor problems. Most notably, this happens as it includes support for cameras and video-Lite 720p AVCHD, the removal of a marker does not change the times and duration of the project, and the palette of video effects now uses the correct thumbnail of static images. The update for this update is recommended for all users of iMovie’09.
While RAW Compatibility Update 2.6 extends compatibility with Aperture 2, iPhoto’08 and iPhoto’09 for RAW images from the following cameras: Canon EOS 500D, Canon Rebel T1i, Canon EOS Kiss Digital X3, Nikon D5000 and Olympus E 30.
The new update for iPhoto, iPhoto 8.0.3, offers solutions to general problems of compatibility, improves stability and resolves a number of implementation issues.
As usual, all updates are available via the Software Update option of the Mac OS X.
