The camera may also like the Panasonic Lumix DMC-TZ7 (which is currently the top model of the DMC-TZ series – see also our review of Panasonic Lumix DMC-TZ7) with a very long focal length range from 25mm to 300mm telephoto – both converted to the Small – points. The Panasonic Lumix DMC-DMC-TZ6, TZ7, and Canon PowerShot SX200 IS is currently the only three compact digital cameras on the market, which has 12.0 times optical zoom installed.

The Panasonic Lumix DMC-TZ6 is the little sister of the very popular Panasonic Lumix DMC-TZ7. Both features 12.0 x zoom in a compact housing. The main differences of the DMC-TZ6 for DMC-TZ7 are the smaller screen (2.7 instead of 3.0 inches) with less resolution (230,000 instead of 460,000 pixels), the smaller the possible display viewing angle, a maximum video resolution of WVGA ie 848 x 480 pixels (DMC-TZ7: 1,280 x 720 pixels), the installed microphone (mono instead of stereo) and the lack of an HDMI interface (the DMC-TZ7 can offer).
The DMC-TZ7 has a stronger processor is installed. If the Panasonic Lumix DMC-TZ6 still with a “Venus Engine IV image processor, the Panasonic Lumix DMC-TZ7 to an improved high-performance image processor, the Venus Engine HD” class with dual-core processor (CPU Twin) fall back. This is due to the reduced video resolution and the QuickTime Motion JPEG video format, the DMC-TZ6 compared to the AVCHD video format with the DMC-TZ7 but also sufficient. Despite the joint or “slower” processor launches the DMC-TZ6 but incidentally within 1.76 seconds, making this at least slightly more than half a second quicker to use than the DMC-TZ7. Also in the series mode, the DMC-TZ6 with 1.9 frames per second just before the nose of the DMC-TZ7, which “only” 1,8 frames per second “fast” is.
As a common feature is the record-breaking 12.0-fold optical zoom lens trademarks of Leica to mention that a very practical focal length of 25 to 300mm after KB covers. Both cameras also offer an optical image stabilization through a movable lens stored in the lens, which Panasonic as “Mega OIS” described.
The Panasonic Lumix DMC-TZ6 price is only 65 euros difference from the DMC-TZ7 (as of 07/2009). If you like high-resolution video with stereo sound recording and pictures captured on camera display view or would like to perform here but in our opinion, the DMC-TZ7 access.
