Pentax Optio W80, Compact and Tough Camera

The compact market seems quiet for the summer season, but Pentax has used to launch the Optio W80. Its main feature is designed to withstand extreme conditions.

The Pentax Optio W80 is a compact travel and especially for the adventurous. It is designed to resist water, dust and shock. Even it doesn’t use titanium, but it may seem to be quite resilient. Which makes it an ideal compact for travel and lose the extreme care with which we usually put the page.

Among the striking features include supporting and splashing rain, and can dive to a depth under water of 5 meters. And besides, tough coating you can emerge unscathed from a fall of up to 1 meter in height. It also supports extreme temperatures of up to 10 degrees below zero. And all this without losing a very compact size, and apparently at a price not too high (and that it improves enough to its predecessor, the Optio W60).

Its also featuring 12.1 megapixel sensor, an optical zoom of 5 increases with angle of 28 mm, all in a slim body and the lens is wrapped with a mineral glass coating to repel water, dirt and the traces of the fingers. It has a 2.5 inch LCD screen and video recording (which given that it provides us with an underwater option for the most fun divers). Of course, it also incorporates other features such as the usual face detection, Smile, has reduced the vibration. Available in red, blue and gray and goes on sale in July for an approximate price of about $ 300 in the U.S. market. We imagine that happen in Europe by 300 Euros.
