Samsung s8300 UltraTouch Review
Samsung has taken the next step in the race to perfect the mobile phone with the S8300 UltraTouch model. They are improved with TouchWIZ interface that provide a tactile experience more streamlined and accurate. The display Grinding is very good even with ambient light, and causes the photos and videos look like never before.
After a few days with the phone in our test bench is our overall impression that. Despite the effort, the Samsung S8300 UltraTOUCH not yet achieved its goal of perfection. But it is quite close in areas such as display, Grinding technology that improves visibility in challenging lighting situations, such as daylight or direct light. Blacks are intense and vivid colors and saturated, a breakthrough for this type of device.
Grinding around the screen rotates the owner of Samsung touchscreen interface, TouchWIZ, which in this display is quite flexible, but without reaching the levels of speed of response of the tactile models of Apple. Fulfills its function, and response “haptic” is useful to know when was made on a touch screen interface recognized, but handled by the widgets themselves TouchWIZ with the limited resolution of the screen is sometimes a complicated task .
The alphanumeric keypad is slippery, but UltraTOUCH Samsung S8300 has a keyboard alternative.
The Samsung S8300 UltraTOUCH handled well in applications that must cope with a normal phone, halfway between the terminals and advanced smartphones. Radio and music playback are well resolved, and can continue playing even when it leaves the media player to search for contacts or work with messages. Indeed, work with messages and writing text is one of the better things of this terminal, although an integrated alphanumeric keyboard is complicated to get best results.
The size of the terminal and its thickness is kept within acceptable limits rather than with a good resistance on the screen and a casing that is sturdy and soft, rounded shapes that invite you to keep the terminal in any pocket. Both the quality of construction and materials are outstanding.
Widgets are the essence of TouchWIZ, although they would appreciate a screen resolution to something higher to have more space to interact with them.
The camera is just right, with a remarkable speed in the approach and implementation, as well as photographic functions complete with amazing results in complex lighting conditions.
Still not an alternative for dedicated cameras, but it serves well to preserve a moment, one side taking notes or doing a quick photo to an address or a text message instead of copying. The panorama mode is a simple way to get spectacular photos of landscapes and urban spaces, where you just have to go by moving the camera to record images of the final panorama.
The GPS allows geoetiquetar photos, although some of the tests we could not get the EXIF information about the coordinates. Google Maps works well, but is more focused guidance for when we walk as a GPS “traditional.”
8 Mpx camera produces images with acceptable quality. It’s fast and if he did not light, It has two LEDs to illuminate the scene, or at least the first level.
Regarding connectivity, it lacks WiFi, so they depend only on the 3G data connection for Internet access. In any event, the usual navigation through web pages is difficult except for off actions, such as mail or check our RSS news continue. The A-GPS does demand for continued access to data, and the Google Maps application will also use Internet access to download maps so you can locate. It is almost oblicado therefore recruit a flat rate data if we do not want unpleasant surprises to make ends meet.
Widgets and Java applications like Google Maps for this are the usual method of extending the abilities of the phone. Games are also an integrated component in the terminal, as well as play videos, but the battery will suffer if it is a long time “pulling” of processor and screen. There is a widget on Facebook (yes) and others to check the state of the weather, create or record quick voice notes, among others.
Most users will not miss anything less, but those accustomed to more comprehensive mobile operating systems like Symbian or Windows Mobile does miss some specific functionality.
The thickness of the terminal UltraTOUCH Samsung is small and rounded shapes help to keep in any pocket without disturbing.
Conclusions
Samsung S8300 is a UltraTOUCH terminal rather than correct, without being a smartphone, and incorporates enough features to satisfy users looking for a phone with a size “normal” and with image and multimedia capabilities of solvents, while need to surf the Web, or use geolocation applications have games graphically well done and very attractive.
Telephony is well settled, and from there, the possibilities are many and never look like the screen Grinding. Nokia was the first to include a display of this type in a terminal, but the Samsung’s performance is excellent on this phone.
In summary
A phone without being a smartphone to use, it integrates a number of characteristics and uses “smart” games and multimedia. It is also possible to install “widgets” to extend its additional functions ..
