The New BlackBerry Messenger
The new BlackBerry Messenger is something that just had major updates since its launch on the BlackBerry 7290. This is the last version BlackBerry Messenger.
Here are some of the new features and enhancements that will quickly begin to use it as:
Support Avatar
Set your own avatar using the camera or photo stored on the device (which is local and appears next to your name on your friends list)
Integrated GPS tracking
Now you can set permissions so your friends can always see your location, have an invitation to share the time or never wish to view.
Proximity sensor
At this point we are guessing but I think it lets you know if you’re within a certain distance from friends (pending, of course, that is configured on both devices to share freely with each other)
Establish talking
This will allow you to organize your conversations in the main Messenger screen and label them with items to keep track of all your conversations
Support for creating shortcuts
Now you can create an icon in the Messenger contact of your choice directly on the main screen for easy and quick access.
