Twitter Will Provide French, German, Italian and Spanish Versions
Twitter, the micro blogging site with rapid growth, is looking for volunteer translators to create French, German, Italian and Spanish versions.
For now Twitter.com is only available for now in English and Japanese.
Biz Stone, cofounder of the company based in San Fracisco (Western U.S.) announced in a message on Friday that they planned to create other languages versions of its website starting French, German, Italian and Spanish .
To make it happen, Twitter will invite a “small group” of Twitter users to become translators
“We are thrilled to make more people use Twitter in their native language!” Stone said.
Twitter allows its users to messages with no more than 140 characters, called “tweets”. The site has rapid growth since it was launched in August 2006, claiming to have 50 million users.
