WikiReader, Portable Wikipedia
WikiReader is an electronic encyclopedia that brings Wikipedia physical form. Carry around and consult offline without being connected to the internet. Made by Openmoko, a mobile phone and small toys manufacturer.
It is small and simple, just four buttons. A small touch screen in black and white enough to read text without pictures … the interesting thing is that you can access information wherever you are. It even has a button to get random item as in real Wikipedia to entertain yourself while reading.
Works with 2 batteries and comes with an SD card which stores information. Insert this card into a computer with internet connection and update information automatically from Openmoko web. Or, if you prefer, you can receive annually 4 new SD with updates by mail for $29/ 25 Euros a year.
Now you can take Wikipedia with you wherever you go. Get it for about $99/ 70 Euros.
